BMW AGMC 2017 MEN’S AMATEUR OPEN AT JGE

Rayhan Thomas successfully defended his BMW AGMC 2017 AMATEUR OPEN Title following a two-man playoff on the 18th hole of the Earth course. With Chris Rahm and Rayhan both scoring 142 over the two days they headed back to the 18th tee box to battle it out to be crowned the Men’s Amateur Open Champion.

Rayhan hit the fairway and Chris was unlucky to find the water from the tee and having taken his drop laid up short of the green for 3, Rayhan who is certainly playing with plenty of confidence after a fantastic Dubai Desert Classic went for the green in two and could not have placed the ball any better to the middle of the green. After the approach of Chris the honor was still with him and he rolled a putt just past the hole, the scene was now set and after sizing up the put Rayhan walked the ball into the hole from over 40 feet across the green to retain his BMW AGMC 2017 AMATEUR OPEN with Chris Rahm taking second place.

Third place was collected by another teenager in Joshua Hill, following a field-leading 69 on Friday over the Fire course it was the 16th on Earth that became his downfall with an unfortunate 7 on the par 4. With a total of 144 (69 & 75) Joshua was seven shots clear of his nearest rival. The net division was closely fought with Gurbax Singh coming out on top 69 and 74 to hold off the competition.

Marcus Wallman finished Net Runner-up on 147 and Miki Mirak in third with 148. On the day prizes Ben Wills takes Best Net on Day 1 with 72 and Nico Baljer takes day 1 gross with 71 which included a hole in one on the 14th of Fire. Hosi Yadav won day two best net with 72 and Aarkesh Bhatia won best gross with 72.
