MUIRHEAD RETAINS AGMC LADIES OPEN TITLE AT MEYDAN

(Dubai, UAE) – Meydan Golf welcomed some of the region’s top Lady Golfers to compete for the AGMC Ladies Open, Event 10 on the Emirates Golf Federation Order of Merit schedule.

With the first Tee Time commencing at 7:30 am, playing conditions were perfect without a single cloud in the sky. It was evident that temperatures were going to increase as the day went on, however, this wasn’t going to influence competitors.
Current Order of Merit leader Alison Muirhead was looking to defend her AGMC Title at Meydan, her last event in the region before heading to College in the United States. Muirhead was paired with Natalie Gupta and Deborah Chang, who are currently 4th and 5th in the Ladies Order of Merit. With two halves of 37, Alison finished with a total of 74, two over par. This put her two shots ahead of Deborah, who forged a comeback on the back 9 with birdies at 14 and 15; however, two late bogeys proved to be the deciding factor as the action unfolded.
Chantal El Chaib, Alison’s nearest competitor in the Order of Merit was the one to watch out for in the remaining groups on the Golf Course. After closing with a round 78, 6 over par, it was confirmed that Muirhead had retained her Meydan crown.
In the Net Division, Jamie Roslyn Camero claimed victory after a countback from Elsie Bruce. A Net Score of 73 was very impressive from the youngest competitor in the field.
During the Prize Presentation, Phil Dobson (Golf Operations Manager) expressed his appreciation to the Main Event Sponsor AGMC and Prize Sponsors Rivoli Group and Adidas/TaylorMade.
