General Abdullah Al Hashemi Wins December UAE National Monthly Medal Sponsored by Mashreq Bank

(Abu Dhabi, UAE) – On December 12th, 2021, the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) hosted the December United Arab Emirates (UAE) National Monthly Medal sponsored by Mashreq Bank at Abu Dhabi Golf Club. Over 50 UAE national golfers gathered to compete across five different divisions. General Abdullah Al Hashemi took advantage of playing at his home course with an impressive overall victory.
The December UAE National Monthly Medal sponsored by Mashreq Bank was honored to have EGF Chairman, His Excellency Shaikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, and other EGF Board Members playing in this month’s event.
Winning the National Monthly Medal and was General Abdullah Al Hashemi with an impressive 43 stableford points (78 gross score). General Al Hashemi had this to say after his victory. “It’s always a pleasure playing at my home course [Abu Dhabi Golf Club]. I think that it gave me an advantage. Thank you to Mashreq Bank for sponsoring the event. Our partnership with the bank for these National Monthly Medals started back in 2019 and the EGF was unable to hold them due to the pandemic. We are happy to see the Mashreq brand attached to these events again. Their support is greatly appreciated.”
Touching on the EGF and Mashreq Bank partnership, Mariam Al Hammadi, SVP and Head of Emirati Segment at Mashreq Bank had this say. “We are delighted to have sponsored the Emirates Golf Federation’s UAE National Monthly Medal. Finishing as the Runner-Up for the event was Yousuf Al Ali with 42 points and coming in Third Place with 39 stableford points was Jamal Bin Marghoob.
National Team Member Saif Thabet fired a 72, even-par, winning the Best Gross Prize.
In the Senior Division, for those who are 50 years of age or older, Abdulrahman Allaqeeti collected 44 points to win the division.
Awards were also given based on handicap with an A-Division (0-14 handicap) and B-Division (14-24 handicap) winners. Winning the A-Division Prize was Ahmed Al Suwaidi with 36 Stableford Points. Saleh Al Ameri won the Division-B prize with 37 Stableford Points.
For the Ladies Division, Alia Al Emadi won with 33 stableford points. Finishing in Second Place was Aliya Al Qubaisi with 24 points and rounding off the top-three was Reem Al Hosani with 29 points
In the Junior Division, the EGF had 8 juniors compete for the top three spots. Coming in First Place was Rashid Al Jassmy with 46 points. Finishing in Second Place was Sultan Al Jassmey with 42 points and rounding off the top-three was Abdulla Al Suwaidi with 37 points.
During the event, the EGF hosted 9 members of the National Foundation Squad on the Garden Course at Abu Dhabi Golf Club. The winner of the Par 3 Competition after a close countback was Mohammed Thabet.
The Runner-up for the Par 3 Competition was Abdulla Salmeen and Ali Al Maazmi finished in Third Place.
The event also had two “On Course Challenges” up for grabs. Taking home the Longest Drive Award was Sultan Al Jassmy. Winning the Nearest to the Pin Award was Saif Thabet.
